Who are Scientologists? Meet Marc-André, a translator from Canada.
“In high school, French was my worst subject,” says Marc-André. “I hated French. I had poor grades. And then I got into Scientology and one of the first courses I did was the Basic Study Manual. And I learned about, for example, looking up words I don’t understand. If there’s something I don’t get, look it up in the dictionary, see how it works. That completely changed my attitude. I started learning proper grammar, proper ways to speak, proper ways to write. That’s how I became able to do translation, by really understanding the language.”
