In honor of International Women’s Day, Scientology Network will host an all-day marathon featuring powerful stories of women making an extraordinary impact in their communities and beyond.
First observed in 1911, International Women’s Day is celebrated worldwide on March 8 to recognize the achievements of women and raise awareness for women’s rights.
The International Women’s Day Marathon highlights women from diverse fields—such as the arts, education and community leadership—who are changing lives and empowering others through their work. Among them is Trish Duggan, visionary artist and founder of the renowned Imagine Museum. In addition to her work advancing creativity, she is a tireless advocate for human rights. “Art takes us to the future. It has the ability to transport viewers forward and up,” she says, reflecting on the transformative power of art. She adds, “When I put this museum together, one of the things that was so important to me was communicating concepts—peace, freedom, human rights.” Her story exemplifies how art can inspire meaningful, lasting change.
Also featured is human rights activist Isabelle Vladoiu, founder of the US Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights. Driven by witnessing human trafficking in her native Romania, she has become a leading voice in Washington, DC, promoting education on fundamental rights and championing anti-trafficking legislation. Through her efforts, more than 80,000 people worldwide have been educated on their rights.
Throughout the day, viewers can explore a diverse lineup of programs highlighting women making a difference around the world:
