    SCIENTOLOGY NETWORK CHAMPIONS HUMAN RIGHTS AS PATH TO PEACE WITH SPECIAL MARATHON

    Scientology Network marks the International Day of Peace with a marathon spotlighting people working to make human rights a fact and build a more peaceful world. The marathon begins September 21 at 8:00 a.m. ET.

    The need to safeguard fundamental rights remains urgent as global freedom declined for the 20th consecutive year in 2025, with political rights and civil liberties deteriorating in 54 countries, according to Freedom House’s Freedom in the World 2026 report.

    This year’s International Day of Peace calls on people to “Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.” The marathon brings that message to life through Voices for Humanity, spotlighting individuals confronting some of the most pressing human rights issues in their countries.

    Among them is Ladislas Nkundabanyanga, who uses human rights education to help overcome divisions between Hutu and Tutsi in Rwanda in the aftermath of the 1994 genocide. “With the education Ladislas is providing, we won’t see another genocide because people will understand that we are all the same, with the same vision for Rwanda,” says a local government official in Rwanda’s Nyabihu District.

    Other stories include Isabelle Vladoiu working with business and government leaders to combat human trafficking and champion anti-trafficking legislation, and Rahul KC, whose grassroots efforts helped advance constitutional protections for human rights in Nepal.

    The day’s special programming will feature:

    • Voices for Humanity, the ongoing series profiling people working to advance human rights and address major social issues in their communities;
    • The Story of Human Rights, a striking short film tracing the evolution of human rights from ancient times to the Universal Declaration adopted by the United Nations;
    • Human rights PSAs bringing each of the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to life; and
    • Mully, the award-winning documentary about Charles Mully, who rose from homelessness to become a successful entrepreneur before devoting his fortune to rescuing and educating more than 20,000 homeless children in Kenya.
